A lot has happened in the last few weeks.
My family and I attended the Florida Outdoor Writers Assoc. conference in Ocala August 26-29.
There I received and Excellence in Craft Award for my book, When Steamboats reigned in Florida. I was a great honor to win. I was also elected as 1st VP of FOWA and will be president next year. Another great honor.
My granddaughter Corrie Jones and her husband Tony came for a couple of days and we had our usual good time laughing, eating, shopping and everything else we do when we get together.
I came home with a new trolling motor for my boat and a new rod Tony bought me at a place called Gander Mountain.
All in all the conference was wonderful as it always is. I enjoy the chance to see other writers and friends from years past. I have been in FOWA for over 15 years and have learned a lot about the craft of writing as well as having met some special people, friends.

It has been a long time, but I am finally back on my blog. My intention is to update regularly.
A lot has happened since my last post. My book When Steamboats Reigned in Florida was published by the University Press in Gaines ville, Fl and I won and Excellence in Craft award at our Florida Outdoor Writers Conference in Ocala on August 28. I was also elected 1st Vice President of FOWA and will be President in 2010. The award and election was a great honor for me.
I wrote another book in 2009. It is called Stories From Fantastic Florida. It is a short story book of articles I have written through the years and is available from Booklocker.com or Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other booksellers or you can order one from me. Visit my web site: Southernfreestyle.com for more information.
I am now posting some of my photographs on Alamy.com. Alamay is a stock photo company that sells photos all over the world. You can view my photographs by logging on to Alamy and putting Bob Bass in the search box. Please visit. You may see something you like.
Meanwhile my new puppy Mitzi and my grandson Justin are about to start fishing on our new pontoon boat. We have the boat at Lake Hatchineha in central Florida.
That's all for now, but please stay tuned for later.
